My Story
I am a single mother of two beautiful daughters, a thriving breast cancer survivor, a healer, a seeker and a poet.
Through my 26 years as a spiritual psychotherapist, I have come to view life as a spiral that is always moving us towards healing and wholeness. From this perspective, the symptoms that bring us into therapy or consultation are not really problems, but the healing impulse of our psyche loudly declaring that our awareness and growth are required. Therefore, as life inevitably presents us with transitions and loss, each unique circumstance becomes an integral part of what awakens us into the fullness of our human experience.
I am trained in EMDR in 1997 (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and have a vast expertise in trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, couples & family therapy, spiritual matters, including spiritual emergence..
With my Masters degrees in East West psychology and Integral Counseling psychology, I enjoy utilizing the rich wisdom traditions of the East: Buddhism, Sufism, & Hinduism with Western Christian mysticism in my healing work with clients. I often weave into sessions body awareness, mindfulness practices, teaching stories or my special love of mystical poetry.
As a mother, I value helping women prepare psychologically and spiritually for pregnancy, the transition into motherhood, and the ongoing joys and challenges of parenting. As well as teaching women classes on Amrita: Embodied Sexual Empowerment.
Since 2002, I've been supervising Interns of all different levels, from practicum (seeing their first clients) to completing their licensure. I have Private Practice Interns, and Interns in my non-profit agency Prajna Psychotherapy Center, and am available to supervise for various counseling centers.
